In February 2018, a young couple, Rajesh & Shruti Savla, approached us to personalise their new home at Lodha, New Cuffe Parade in Mumbai. The space was acquired with materials already specified by the developer, under aesthetic direction by Philippe Starck; however, these failed to match the couple’s requirements and personal aesthetics.
Operating within a 9-month time frame, Studio Wodehouse successfully designed and transformed the 4-bedroom apartment into a 3-bedroom home for the Savlas where their young children had a beautiful suite to themselves without interrupting the functioning of the extended home. The kitchen area was opened up for Shruti to pursue her culinary passions.
Apart from fulfilling the family’s requirements, our team created a whole new aesthetic definition for the couple who were flexible in their design direction. Together, we embarked on this journey to create a wonderfully contemporary space replete with natural and serene textures, modern lines and infinite details. Art, antiques and furniture were eclectically sourced to add warmth and character to the space.
